Always Check Your Equipment

Maintaining and keeping your equipments in good working order is important. Servicing your gear regularly or approximately after 100 dives is a standard rule. Do not hesitate to check your equipment condition before a dive. If you are using a borrowed equipment, conduct a thorough check because any malfunction can cause problems. Ensure you are familiar and know how to use your scuba gear. Equipment can differ slightly in different dive centers and countries, so if you are not sure about something, it is better you ask.


Many equipment related accidents do not occur due to equipment breakage but because of diver uncertainty of asking how it works. Ensuring you have the correct specialized equipment for a dive is significantly important. When going for a night dive ensure you carry a primary torch and a backup and they are both fully charged.
